Welcome
As part of my own educational journey, I am starting this blog as a place for students to share their thoughts. Home Hospital Instruction is my job but supporting others is a passion. It is my hope that this blog will develop into a place that feels supportive for the students who are invited to participate.
This is a safe place for a select group of students to express themselves and learn from their peers and the teachers who support them.
This blog will ask each student to respond to a weekly prompt. Your answers are private as your true identity will be protected. Key to the success of this blog is that all students post anonymously. No one needs to know who you are so your honesty and openness is encouraged.
Blogging is a great way to express yourself. I personally have posted to several of my blogs, which you are all welcome to review. Most of my own writing has been in response to my education and my job. I developed this idea because I have watched the needs of students on HHI change dramatically over the last four years. Many students are now on HHI for issues that cannot be helped by a cast or a medicine. Students are suffering from anxiety and depression.
In this safe place, my hope is that we gain a better understanding of how we can move past this place. There is strength in numbers and together we can learn and grow stronger. Welcome and know that you are cared for and appreciated.
Lisa
What a great idea! I know that students who do students who complete their studies independently from the school site can feel isolated and "out-of-the-loop". This brings a sense of belonging and collegiality!
